[Workshop Recap] Seeing Quarry Bay Through Hands: The "#Walk X #Zine" Journey
Community isn’t just a location—it’s an evolving network of shared experiences, local stories, and mutual support. During our recent "What’s in Hong Kong: Seeing #QuarryBay with Hands" (【香港有咩：用手看見 #鰂魚涌】) workshop, participants embarked on a community walking tour to explore and rediscover the unique charm of our local streets.
Guided by our interns, attendees slowed down to observe details often overlooked in the daily rush—tracing the textures of faded wall tiles, recording warm greetings outside neighborhood shops, and soaking in the everyday rhythm of Quarry Bay.
Turning Urban Observations into Personal Zines
Through drawing, paper cutting, and writing, participants reassembled standard city views into personalized community zines (Chih). Whether long-time local residents or first-time visitors exploring Quarry Bay, everyone discovered that when you pause to listen, understand, and express, genuine connections between people and the neighborhood happen naturally.
